El término ´habitaquo´ no existía hasta el lunes 2 de abril, cuando los organizadores de HazRuido decidieron anunciarla en el marco del concurso. Inmediatamente después, cientos de internautas se lanzaron a crear webs utilizando técnicas de ´posicionamiento´, con las que intentan conseguir que su página sea más visible que la del resto de concursantes.
El ganador de este concurso será aquel webmaster que haya conseguido colocar su web en primer lugar al buscar ´habitaquo´ en Google el próximo 23 de mayo de 2007. Como reconocimiento será premiado con un ordenador portátil Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo de Intel a 1.83 GHz y 512 MB de RAM.
Para conseguir su objetivo, los concursantes están utilizando algunas técnicas como crear blogs, -ya que este tipo de páginas alcanzan mejores posiciones en Google-, registrar dominios con la palabra ´habitaquo´, -como habitaquo.com, habitaquo.es- o incluir sus webs en directorios y en páginas como Menéame –que sirven para promocionarla-. Otras acciones son crear vídeos que se suben a páginas como YouTube y organizar foros y grupos de discusión en diversos puntos de internet.
Además de la batalla de posicionamiento, el concurso HazRuido gratificará a los mejores creadores de aplicaciones novedosas de marketing viral. En esta categoría, el primer y segundo premio son un viaje a Punta Cana y un viaje a Canarias respectivamente.
